The Acadamy for Eating Disorders (AED) states that, "although the fashion industry does not directly cause eating disorders, it does contribute greatly to out culture's perception of beauty." When young girls with an already low self-esteem see these rediculously thin models, they think that they will look "pretty" like that by being skinny. The AED has now demanded that the fasion industry adopts a height-to-weight ratio as a requirement for their models. They hope that this will decrease the rate of patients with anorexia nervosa and bulemia nervosa.

I agree with this! I think there are too many models who are way to skinny. Its just disgusting! I don't know why anyone in their right mind would want to be that skinny.
